Islander flies 'symbolic' journey
The chairman of B-N Group Ltd, Alawi Zawawi, recently flew into the UK from Romania, at the controls of the first brand new Britten-Norman Islander to be manufactured under the company's changed ownership. Zawawi collected the aircraft from the Romaero Company of Bucharest, and piloted it back to the UK, by-passing Graz and Cannes on the way. He said: "I saw this as a symbolic journey back to B-N Group's Isle of Wight home." The aircraft will later be flown to Bembridge for customisation of the interior, installation of the avionic fit and external finish to the Japanese customer's specification.
