Hawker Horizon mock-up tops the bill at Lynton show

On the back of the company's Premier One open day last year, Lynton Aviation recently showcased the new Hawker Horizon in mock-up fuselage and cockpit display form at its Blackbushe facility. Over a three day period, the company is thought to have received approximately 150 guests.

Said director of international aircraft sales Peter Leonard-Morgan: "It was a great success like the Premier One day last year. This time however, we had more time to plan it. The other thing in our favour was having the mock-up before Farnborough, rather than after it, so it was genuinely the first UK showing of that exhibit."

Of the Horizon, he said: "Although it's not as large as a 900 or GIV, it has incredible range and is pretty big inside with some really nice amenities.

"The flight deck is really cutting edge, not just a composite fuselage. Everything is very new technology and owners and operators are pretty well versed now as to the technological advantages of each aircraft."

While the first certification Horizon is due to fly at the end of this year, Leonard-Morgan warned that the delays in the Premier 1 programme could possibly impact on the Horizon.

In addition to the mock-up display, Lynton exhibited a Beechjet 400A, a Super King Air B200, a King Air C90B and other exhibits offered by Sikorsky, Jack Barclay, The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, James J Fox and Breitling.
