Honeywell has signed an agreement with FlightSafety International to provide aviation's first personal computer software for training business and regional aircraft customers operating Honeywell's FMZ-2000 family of Flight Management System (FMS) avionics.
"Our new PC-FMS software will help flight departments reduce their training costs while allowing flight crews to review and practice to proficiency the FMS procedures with their personal computers, at home or on the road," said John Uczekaj, vice president, business, regional and helicopter programmes.
PC-FMS is a personal computer version of the FMZ-2000 FMS found on business and regional aircraft. Unlike earlier generation training products, it uses authentic FMS aircraft code with personal computers.
