Deutscher Helicopter Dienst GmbH operates a Schweizer 300C and an MD 500D/E. Residing at Ochtendung near Koblenz, the company has its own heliport, flight operations and a JAR-145 repair station.
The MD 500 is charged at US$750 per flight hour; the Schweizer at $375.
Business increased last year and is expected to stabilise in the next few months. "Organisation and authenticity" are said to be important factors in Deutscher Helicopter Dienst's success.
LGM Luftfahrt GmbH is based at Mannheim Airport and operates air taxi, photography, cargo, pilot training and type rating missions. The company uses a Bell JetRanger, a Bell LongRanger, a Piper Seneca, a C90 King Air and a BK 117.The charter company has its own commercial maintenance facility at the airport.
"The number of flight hours has been increasing this year," Ralf Tozca, chief pilot at LGM Luftfahrt, told EBAN, "and that is why we are thinking positively for next year. We have reformed the company with JAR-OPS 1 and 3 certification. We have new quality management and we also have new operations and new commercial coordination. Our work is better organised and more effective. We want to be more successful with this new structure."
Wiking Helikopter Service GmbH operates a fleet of Sikorsky S76 helicopters, equipped and certified for 24 hours a day flying, apparently almost regardless of weather conditions. The company is based in Hamburg.
Since 1986, the company has been undertaking flights for management and executives of German industry and politics to international yachting locations in the Mediterranean and Caribbean with its Sikorskys in executive configurations.
