Raymond Steyn, ExecuJet aircraft sales director (South Africa) was recently on hand in Copenhagen to relinquish the keys of the latest business jet to be sold by the broker, a new Learjet 60.
The aircraft has been sold to a private businessman, who will use it for business purposes, according to Henrik Burkal, sales director for ExecuJet Scandinavia. The buyer has business interests in both South Africa and Europe, so the sale involved Execujet Scandinavia and Execujet South Africa.
The Danish registered aircraft will be based at Farnborough, UK, and will be operated and maintained by ExecuJet Scandinavia. It is already available for charter; it has begun flying intra-European missions already, reports Burkal.
"The buyer chose the six seat interior, which has the club arrangement in the rear of the cabin and two forward facing seats in the front," Burkal informed EBAN. "It also has a very nice entertainment system including video and music. It has a separate toilet like all Learjet 60s, which can become a seventh seat. You could have more seats, but it is usually used for no more than three or four people."
"ExecuJet has a base for that particular aircraft at Farnborough, but our main base is in Copenhagen. There is no hangar space at Farnborough for the Learjet 60 yet, but we are looking at other options, maybe away from Farnborough."
