AlliedSignal Aerospace is currently developing a new cockpit Integrated Hazard Avoidance System (IHAS) which has enhanced functions and lower weight. According to Scott Thompson, the company's IHAS product manager, the advantages of the new system include the following: reduced procurement cost, decreased system volume and weight, less wiring and connectors and decreased spares stockage.
