Aero Vodochody, the Czech aircraft company, has announced that it will roll out the first of its Ae270 single engine turboprops on December 10. The aircraft is the result of joint ventures with Ibis Aerospace Limited joint venture company and Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) of the Republic of China. \rIn September, the Ae270's debut was slated for November 12, but this was delayed by the Taiwanese earthquake, which apparently disrupted the wing installation. \rThe event occurs in the year of the 80th anniversary of Aero Vodochody, and will also feature the first delivery of five L-159 trainers to the Czech Airforce by Aero Vodochody. The aircraft is to be offered in two configurations. The Ae270P, powered by a PT6A-42A (850shp) and is pressurised with retractable landing gear. The Ae270W is powered by the Walter M601 F (670shp) and is non-pressurised with fixed landing gear. \rThe type is intended to meet FAR 23, normal category, and is eligible for FAR 135 IFR operations. It has a useful load of 3,300lbs and is capable of accommodating up to ten people or can be converted for cargo purposes.\r"The Ae270 offers multiple configurations, ranging from executive level transport in a spacious, pressurised cabin, to long distance delivery and cargo equipment," said a spokesman for Ibis Aerospace.\rNo orders have yet been taken for the Ae270, as distribution centres have yet to be opened. Air Vodochody will be marketing the aircraft in Eastern Europe, Ibis will cover Western Europe and the USA, and AIDC will sell the aircraft in the Far East.
