Boeing Business Jets, the Air Routing Group and Delta Air Lines have formed a business relationship to introduce the BBJ Gold Card worldwide support programme. It comes at a time when the first BBJ has entered into service and is viewed by those involved as "a value added service for BBJ owners." With the use of the BBJ Gold Card or a single phone call, the three companies say owners will have access to an integrated network of flight support services including emergency 'roadside' service, fuel discounts and consolidated invoices and billing statements.\rAir Routing says it has been selected to provide the billing and payment aspect of the BBJ card. Ron Henderson, Air Routing Group card services' president, said: "We are pleased to be working with Boeing Business Jets on this programme, and are confident that this card will complement Boeing Business Jets' initiatives to enhance service support to their clientele".\rIn addition to 24-hour access to operational support for flight planning, weather briefs, overflight/landing permits, security, transportation and communications, Air Routing says the Gold Card will provide a payment mechanism for airline parts and maintenance. The company adds that a network of nearly 2,000 global FBOs, fuel suppliers, ground service and maintenance providers, and airlines will honour the card.\rDelta Air Lines' technical operations division has been selected, says Boeing Business Jets, to provide the emergency 'roadside' service for BBJ customers. The service is to provide telephone trouble-shooting and access to additional spare parts and repairs worldwide. BBJ customers will be issued with a direct phone line to Delta Air Lines' maintenance control centre in Atlanta, where a "24-hour single point contact for all unscheduled maintenance requirements" will be provided. Ray Valeika, Delta's senior vice president, said: "BBJ's selection of Delta is a strong vote of confidence in our ability to compete successfully with the world's premier providers of maintenance, repair and overhaul services."\rBorge Boeskov, president of Boeing Business Jets, said: "We have learned quickly that private jet owners are quite different from airline owners and typically do not have the depth of maintenance, engineering and operations support found in airline customers. So we set up a programme just for them."\rDelta Air Lines says it has placed orders for 124 of the 737 commercial variant and has supported and serviced this model for over a year.
