Universal Weather and Aviation has released an upgraded version of its FlightPak scheduling and dispatching software for corporate flight departments. Version 11.0 is compatible with all versions of Windows, allows for more customisation than previously, and according to Universal is faster than ever before. It is also said to be immune to the millennium bug.\r"The enhancements reflect user feedback," stated Kelly Hughes, FlightPak marketing manager. "Clients wanted more calender options and flexibility. They also wanted a friendlier user interface that interacts with other software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Access and Excel. We responded by developing a product that is field tested and supported by a dedicated software support team."\r"Express Quote" is a new addition that allows multiple trips to be calculated on limited information and is said to allow the user to quote over the phone without having to go to multiple screens. The Universal Locator has been upgraded to include a database of 8,500 airports, and reveals information about hotels, vendors and any other user-specified data relevant to a designated city. \rUVtriplink, operating via the internet, allows users to integrate flight support services with their scheduling and dispatch software. Current weather briefs and fuel cost estimates can be retrieved, and flight support service requests can be submitted to Universal's flight coordination team.
