After finding that retirement held little excitement for him, Captain Vivian Gunton has returned to aviation as a pilot at Cega Air Ambulance. The Goodwood, UK-based company is looking forward to using his extensive experience in its expanding operation of King Air and Piper Seneca air ambulances.\rCega chief pilot and joint managing director Clive Ponsford is certain of Gunton's worth to the company. "Air ambulance work is demanding, often requiring the sort of judgement that only long experience can provide. I'm sure Viv Gunton will be a major asset, helping us to maintain the high service standards our customers are used to," he said of the new recruit. Gunton has experience of air ambulance operation having spent time at British European Airways' air ambulance division in the Scottish outer islands.\rDespite enjoying narrow boating and flying light aircraft, Gunton found that retirement 'left insufficient avenues for his energies'.
