A recent research paper has suggested that unusually high levels of sunspot activity could affect GPS signals, it has been reported. One such peak of activity is being predicted for March next year and GPS simulator manufacturers are currently looking for ways to reproduce sunspots in an attempt to assess their effect on GPS receivers. As yet there is no word on when the results of this research will be made public.
