The Single Engine Turboprop Alliance (SETA) has compiled a report that it says reveals unanimous support for the Advanced Notice of Proposed Amendment (ANPA) to JAR OPS-1 regulations that would allow commercial single engine IFR operations in JAA countries. SETA has passed the information on to the JAA to inform any changes to legislation. Comments supporting the proposed regulation change were received by European airworthiness authorities, general aviation manufacturers, aviation industry associations and professional aircraft operators throughout Europe, the US and Canada. "Europe has been working hard to harmonise current JAR regulations with the US and the world," explained SETA principal Langhorne Bond.\r"This was the first opportunity to provide the JAA with the documentation necessary to change the existing regulations governing commercial single engine operations. The positive support from the European industry and authorities is encouraging and indicates significant progress in our efforts." He believes that sufficient desire for change exists to see the current regulations replaced within six months.
