The immediate success that has followed the introduction of a Learjet 60 has led to Windrose Air Flugcharter considering adding further new aircraft in the new future. The German operator acquired the Learjet recently and has already seen a lot of demand for its longer range capabilities.\rManaging director Thomas Stillmann says that destinations all over Europe have been served by the brand new aircraft, including Russia, Spain, the UK, southern Italy and Norway. "We will wait three or four months before considering our options but already we are seeing that this side of the business could develop," he said.\rHe told EBAN that future additions could be other Learjet aircraft or extra Citations. The company currently operates two Citation IIs, a Citation I and a King Air 200 for passenger work. "The main base of my company is Berlin-Tempelhof but the Learjet 60 has its operating base at Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services at Berlin-Schoenefeld," he confirmed. Berlin's main airports are currently undergoing reorganisation and a new international airport for the German capital is to be built at Schoenefeld, at the expense of the other two main airports - a situation that Stillmann is clearly far from relishing.\rEBAN asked him if the new airport would lead to the closing of Tempelhof, to which he replied with a 'you tell me' laugh. "Some say it will close - I say it will remain open," he confidently predicted. "If we absolutely have to go then yes we will but we are awaiting further developments. I prefer Tempelhof," he said, though adding that the company does already have an office at Schoenefeld.
