Magna Air expands fleet
Magna Air Luftfahrgesellschaft, the Vienna-based aircraft management company, has added two aircraft to its fleet during the last six months. The company registered a second Citation 525 in June, and a Lear 45 in April, bringing its capacity up to eight aircraft. Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer, general manager of Magna Air, reported that the Citation was running "quite well," although he said that it was a little crowded with more than four passengers. The Citation operates to destinations in central Europe.

The Citation operates to destinations in central Europe. Lichtner-Hoyer was more enthusiastic about the Learjet. This longer range aeroplane has already put in more than 250 hours flight time, he said. \r"Chartering is getting more popular in Austria, and Europe generally," continued Lichtner-Hoyer. "It used to be a problem to show up in your own jet, being in the industry. This image is changing: I think people perceive it more as a business tool rather than a private luxury."\r"Fractional ownership is not going to be as big in Europe as it is in the US. Chartering aircraft does not have a good reputation in the states because you never know which type of aircraft you are going to get. I think aircraft chartering will continue to progress in Austria."
