SJ30-2 on target for spring 2000 first flight deadline
Construction can now begin on the first Sino Swearingen SJ30-2 business jet to be used for certification flight test work, following the delivery of its nose assembly to the company's headquarters. The nose section was assembled in Vitoria, Spain by Sino Swearingen subcontractor Gamesa Aeronautica before being delivered to San Antonio, Texas, US.

Construction can now begin on the first Sino Swearingen SJ30-2 business jet to be used for certification flight test work, following the delivery of its nose assembly to the company's headquarters. The nose section was assembled in Vitoria, Spain by Sino Swearingen subcontractor Gamesa Aeronautica before being delivered to San Antonio, Texas, US.\rIn the coming months, wing and fuselage assemblies for four additional SJ30-2 airframes will be shipped to Sino Swearingen where they will be assembled into three flying certification test aircraft as well as a static test unit and a fatigue test unit. The first certification flight test unit is scheduled to fly in the spring of 2000. "This represents a major mile-stone for our programme," said Sino Swearingen president and ceo Jack Braly. "It is a tribute to the vision of our investors and the commitment of our employees to achieving a very difficult task - the development by a new company of an all turbine business aircraft."\rSino Swearingen has a backlog of 142 confirmed orders for the SJ30-2, secured by non-refundable deposits of US$75,000 each.
