BFGoodrich Avionics Systems has announced an interface between the Skywatch Traffic Advisory System and Eventide's Argus 5000 and 7000 series of moving map displays, which it says will bring greater situational awareness and safety to the cockpit. The Argus series of moving maps has a CRT display that interfaces with GPS, Loran C, VLF/Omega, inertial or navigation management systems. All 5000 and 7000 Argus maps will interface with either the Skywatch system or the Stormscope system, but not with both systems.\r"The Argus 5000 and 7000 series of moving maps and the Skywatch Traffic Advisory System are great compliments to one another," said Wes Perry, vice president and general manager for BFGoodrich Avionics Systems. "The combination of both technologies provides an innovative and cost effective system that brings situational awareness and safety to the busy GA cockpit." Skywatch is an active surveillance traffic advisory system that operates as an air-to-air or ground-to-air interrogation device.
