Boeing Business Jet and Airbus Corporate Jetliner operators will soon have another option for flying in and out of London following a recent announcement by London Biggin Hill Airport. The airport has notified the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that the runway and taxi bearing strengths now meet the requirements necess-ary for use by the airliner derivatives.\rIt is clearly hoped that the news will help to further increase the growth in passenger numbers at the airport, up by 25 per cent per month on last year's figures. According to airport director Peter Lonegan, this upward trend has been reflected in the increased number of corporate and private aircraft using the airport. Charter traffic is also reported to be on the up with clients such as IT companies and finance houses chartering larger aircraft to take staff and clients on conference and incentive trips overseas. \rLondon Biggin Hill has also launched a web site that is of interest to both members of the public and operators. Alongside a chronological history of the airport, web users will find operational data, information on conference and meeting facilities, other companies on the airfield, aircraft charter and learning to fly. Julie Black, airport marketing manager, reports that the web site is already paying dividends as several operators have taken to e-mailing through their flight requests rather than using more traditional methods.
