Farnborough Aviation Sales has been appointed exclusively to sell the only pre-owned Global Express on the market. Says FAS, "It is the only one you could buy and fly before the millennium". The UK company has been chosen by the current owners of the pre-owned jet, Giant Power of Malaysia.\rEuropean Business Air News asked Giant Power why it had chosen FAS to sell the long-range jet on its behalf. A spokesperson from the Malaysian company said: "FAS has sold three aircraft for us before, at a profit, and they have provided advice on the buying and charter of all our aviation requirements. The company has bought all our aircraft at the right price including their fees. Additionally we enjoy a personal service, trust and a close relationship."\rWhile Giant Power declined to comment on the reasons behind selling the aircraft, a company spokesperson said that it may be replacing the Global Express with another long-range business jet some time in the future. With 10 hours currently on the clock and 200 predicted prior to delivery on November 30, 1999, FAS is offering the pre-owned Global Express for US$43 million. Asked whether this price is an increase on the price of a new Global Express with like interior, Nick McHaffey, FAS sales director said: "There is no marked increase as this has a $10 million interior."\rCertainly McHaffey has no doubts as to the sales potential of the aircraft. He said: "We could sell this aircraft ten times over so it's a shame it's so unique, I doubt there will be another pre-owned aircraft for sale until the end of next year." FAS expects interested parties to include conglomerate companies and private individuals and says it has two or three potential customers already waiting to view the Montreal-based aircraft. \r Global Express serial number 9005 is a low-mileage demonstrator and says FAS, is due to have come out of the factory by the latter stages of September. Describing the aircraft, McHaffey said: "It has more bells and whistles than a brass band. The main cabin is divided into three, wood-panelled and richly carpeted throughout, with art hanging on the walls such as Monet and Van Gogh. In the first, the six fully berthable, leather seats have their own in-built telephone, entertainment system and electronically adjustable lumbar support. \r"The centre cabin can be configured as dining or board-room, and the aft-cabin as a double or twin-single bedroom with en suite bathroom. In addition it has 155 cubic feet of baggage space" McHaffey said of the aircraft's 6,330 nautical mile range: "If you were based in a European capital like Paris, that would be enough to bring 95% of the global population within non-stop reach."\rIn addition, with room for 10 passengers, FAS's sales director told EBAN: "The versatile cabin allows 6'2" executives to stand without stooping, and offers 26 per cent more floor space and 17 per cent more elbow room than its nearest competitor."
