Munich start-up selects the Learjet 60
Air Independence GmbH of Munich, Germany, has received a new Learjet 60, its first aircraft, on May 1 this year. "The decision was to buy an aeroplane which was not too big. The Lear 60 also has good performance," commented company spokesman Knut Mickaelis. The Learjet is the only aeroplane currently operated by Air Independence, although it is looking to acquire a Challenger 604 in January next year. Flights are mainly within Europe; Heathrow and Moscow were singled out by Mickaelis as its more popular destinations. "The business aviation market is very good," said Mickaelis. "There are four companies in Munich, and each has its own clients without any fighting."
