PWI, the Wichita, Kansas-based aviation lighting specialist, has extended its growing list of PMA-approved LED cabin lighting systems with the addition of four systems encompassing the Citation III, VI and VII 650. These new LED systems renew these Citation cabins to the latest cabin lighting experience, replacing all original fluorescents.
Installation is straightforward following the included instructions. The new PWI LEDs are created to fill the same lighting layout as the fluorescents, so that original wiring can be retained and reused. This saves time and creates a more intuitive installation process. Premeasured and assembled LEDs also reduce labour hours during the installation.
“Since 1963, PWI has created products made in the USA, using our own in-house engineering and production staff,” said Robi Lorik, PWI president and CEO. “We are very proud of that history and the continued high-level performance of our team here in Wichita, Kansas.”
PWI's new Citation LED cabin light system eliminates irritating high-voltage fluorescent light flicker, buzz, hum and slow cold-weather starts. PWI LEDs offer the modern performance PWI customers expect; instant-on, no noise, no heat and extremely long life.
The PWI LED cabin lighting system for the Citation 650 models are designed with 4,000K neutral white colour temperature LEDs running on 28 volts supplied directly from the aircraft, without ballasts. The Citation III, VI and VII have upwash lights in the headliner and downwash lighting above the windows, on both sides of the passenger cabin.
Citation III aircraft serial numbers 0001 through 0022 use PWI part number 6910100-033. Citation III serials 0023 through 0199 use PWI part 6910100-034. Citation VI aircraft serials 0200 through 0241 use PWI part 6910100-0035. Finally, Citation VII serials 7001 and later use PWI part number 6910100-051. PMA approval is under PQ4159CE with Supplement number 39.
This Cessna Citation 650 LED cabin light system, as well as all PWI LED products, has a three-year PWI warranty.
“This latest LED cabin lighting system joins a dozen previously approved Citation systems,” Lorik stated. PWI has also designed and manufactured PMA Citation-approved plug-and-play LED reading lights, an LED wing inspection (ice) light and an LED step light for the cabin door steps.
PWI has been an OEM vendor of fluorescent cabin lights for business jets such as the Dassault Falcon, Challenger, Gulfstream, Cessna Citation, Learjet and King Air turboprops for decades. PWI FAA-approved LED aviation upgrades can be purchased direct or through its authorised dealer and distribution network.
