Texan maintenance and modifications specialist SkyWay Group Inc., has received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for an externally serviced lavatory modification for the Cessna Citation CJ3 aircraft. No longer will operators have to carry the water tank through the cabin risking a spill and offensive odours. FAA STC SA04750NY is applicable to the Cessna Citation CJ3 and CJ3+ business jet series and available today. A variant for the CJ, CJ1, CJ2, CJ2+ and CJ4 series is under development and expected to receive STC approval soon.

The SkyWay SkyFlush is a long-awaited modification that adds an external service panel to Citation CJ series of aircraft. The original toilet is removed and replaced with a new flushing toilet designed to pump waste overboard through an industry standard external service panel. The new toilet is designed to fit into the existing toilet cabinet structure, requiring no changes to existing cabinetry or accessories.

The new external service panel is installed on the left side of the aircraft, aft of the wing in the aft fuselage fairing. The service panel features an aviation standard 4” waste drain fitting, a blue water service fitting, an LED light indicating the status of the toilet system, a switch to power the integrated macerator pump and a switch to service (fill) the system with water and deodouriser. This external service panel is fully compatible with standard aviation industry ground service equipment, making it a breeze to service at any FBO or service facility.
