Press Release
Issued by MT-Propeller .
April 8, 2025
MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH has received STC #2025S03-21 from Brazil's Agencia Nacional de Aviacao Civil for the installation of the five-blade MTV-27-1-E-C-F-R(G)/CFRL250-103 propeller on the M7 Aerospace LP SA226-T(B), SA 227-TT, -AC, -AT, -CC, -BC, -DC powered by the engines TPE331-10U-( ), TPE331-11U-(), TPE331-12UA-() TPE331-12UAR-() and TPE331-12UHR-().
This installation is also supplemental type certified by EASA, FAA, TCCA Canada, DGAC Mexico and INAC Venezuela.
MT-Propeller vice president Martin Albrecht says, that the installation feature the following advantages:
- Reduced ground roll distance reduced by approximately 50 m (165 ft).
- Reduced take-off distance over 50 ft obstacle by approximately 80 m (260 ft).
- Improved two engine and single engine climb performance by up to 80 ft/min.
- Improved cruise performance by up to 2 kts.
- Approximately 20 lbs less weight than the removed original McCauley propeller and approximately 65 lbs less weight than the Dowty Rotol propeller.
- Aircraft noise level is about 5 dB(A) less than with the original metal propellers.
- Cabin noise is reduced by 3 to 4 dB(A) depending on location.
- Cooler ITTS during engine start up due to a shorter starting time of 1/3.
- No engine modifications are neccessary for this installation.
Due to its smaller diameter the MT-Propeller for the M7 Aerospace SA227 series has more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion and FODs. The long time proven MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of an FOD. They also provide best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation and have bonded on nickel alloy leading edges for superior erosion protection of the blades.
MT-Propeller is the world leading natural composite propeller manufacturer with 30 propeller models from two-blade to seven-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 5,000hp, and two-blade to four-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propellers for engines producing up to 350hp as well as two blade fixed pitch propellers.
The high performance, light weight and durable MT-Propellers can be used on aircraft with piston engines and propeller turbines, as well as on airships, wind tunnels or hovercraft. MT-Propellers can be developed for nearly every aircraft type from motor gliders to regional airliners.
Fulfilling the highest certifications requirements, they are also supplemental type certified on Part 25 aircraft.
MT-Propeller is the holder of over 230 STCs worldwide and the OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry as well as 30% of the US aircraft industry. More than 33,000 propeller systems with over 115,000 blades are in service, and 180 million fleet hours have been performed on MT-Propellers. With the longest industry TBO of 4,500 hours or six years for the five-bladed turbo prop MT-Propeller has proven the reliability of its products over the years.
A factory certified network of 62 service centres provides best service and maintenance all over the world.
