Blackhawk Aerospace receives FAA STC approval for XP67A Engine+ upgrade on Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion equipped King Airs

Blackhawk Aerospace has received FAA supplemental type certificate (STC) approval, certifing the integration of the Blackhawk XP67A Engine+ upgrade with the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion avionics system. This approval marks a key advancement for factory-Fusion-equipped King Air 350is and 360s, making these airframes eligible for Blackhawk's aftermarket XP67A conversion, enhancing platform performance and reliability.

The Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) PT6A-67A engines, which form the core of the XP67A Engine+ upgrade, deliver more power to higher altitudes, delivering a significant performance boost. Blackhawk's XP67A conversion transforms the King Air 360 into a high-performance, fuel-efficient aircraft, reducing operational costs and increasing longevity. Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney are RTX businesses.

Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion Phase 3.7 software upgrade benefits also include:

- Controller Pilot Data Link Communication (CPDLC): For ground clearance and hand offs, CPDLC provides the ability to communicate with air traffic control (ATC) via next generation flight management and communication tools, similar to SMS text messages.

- Privacy ICAO address (PIA): PIA allows operators to use alternative call signs unrelated to their registration number for privacy concerns.

“This certification brings significant value to King Air 360 owners and operators, offering a powerful and efficient engine upgrade option,” said Edwin Black, president of Blackhawk Aerospace. “Integrated with the Pro Line Fusion avionics system, the XP67A Engine+ upgrade enhances the capabilities and market value of these aircraft. This certification effort expands eligibility for over 300 recently delivered aircraft to fly with Pratt & Whitney's PT6A-67A engines and the latest Pro Line Fusion avionics system from Collins.”

Blackhawk invites King Air 360 owners and operators to explore the advantages of the XP67A Engine+ upgrade, now compatible with all Pro Line Fusion software phases. For personalised programme details and pricing, contact any authorised Blackhawk or Collins approved dealer.
