Press Release
Issued by Blackhawk Performance Centers.
July 22, 2024
The Blackhawk Group (TBG), a leader in services for light turbine aircraft comparising Blackhawk Aerospace, AVEX Aviation and Finnoff Aviation Products, has announced the opening of its newest Blackhawk Performance Center at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (KBJC) in Broomfield, Colorado. The new Blackhawk Performance Center joins The Blackhawk Group's established network of AVEX and Blackhawk service facilities. All service facilities are now operating under the nomenclature of “Performance Centers,” focusing on best-in-class aircraft maintenance and support and aircraft modernisation and enhancement.
To reinforce The Blackhawk Group's dedication to optimising aircraft performance and ownership experience, service facilities located in Columbia, Missouri and Broomfield, Colorado are now dubbed “Blackhawk Performance Centers.” Service facilities located in Camarillo, California, Loveland, Colorado, and Broomfield, Colorado are now “AVEX Performance Centers.” The change to the “Performance Center” nomenclature better captures the work and attention to detail provided by these facilities, as well as the high degree of the team's skill at each location.
At Blackhawk and AVEX Performance Centers, aircraft owners receive comprehensive services for maximising performance and minimising downtime. The Performance Centers elevate every aspect of aircraft performance across multiple dimensions of the aircraft ownership experience by providing unique and transformative solutions:
- Engine upgrades: Enhancing speed, climb rate, range, efficiency, safety and resale value with improved operational flexibility.
- Propeller upgrades: Improving performance and reducing noise levels.
- Avionics upgrades: Modernising aircraft by increasing capabilities, enhancing situational awareness and implementing a platform for future growth.
- Airframe modifications: Enhancing utility, fuel efficiency and mission effectiveness.
- Aircraft maintenance and support: Maximising aircraft performance and utilisation through scheduled inspections, structural repairs, landing gear and engine services, data collection and analysis and much more.
The newly opened Blackhawk Performance Center in Broomfield, Colorado supports turbine-powered aircraft including the very popular King Air and Citation models. The facility is strategically located next to the AVEX Performance Center at KBJC, which supports all facets of Daher TBM ownership. The opening of the Blackhawk Performance Center KBJC facility reenforces The Blackhawk Group's investment in the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport and surrounding Broomfield area by hiring several new employees and opening a newly overhauled facility formerly occupied by Wheels Up. The new facility boasts over 20,000 square feet of hangar space and supports a trained workforce of skilled mechanics and technicians while introducing a significant influx of new customers into the airport and surrounding area.
The facility will be led by Beau Hawkins, who, before joining Blackhawk, gained valuable experience with Western Aircraft. There, he started as an avionics lead, growing into the role of modifications senior sales manager.
“We are extremely excited, not only about opening the second Blackhawk Performance Center, but also the second Performance Center at KBJC to further enhance mission capabilities and performance for light turbine aircraft operators,” said Beau Hawkins, sales director for Blackhawk Performance Centers. “We have a proven track record with the Blackhawk Performance Center in Columbia, Missouri, and we are excited to expand those capabilities to another location to reach even more customers.”
Todd Friend will support Hawkins in bolstering sales for the new facility in the role of sales manager. Friend joins Blackhawk with extensive experience in the aviation industry, most recently having served as manager for Teton Aviation Center in Driggs, Idaho.
“I'm thrilled to join the team at Blackhawk and continue to help drive innovation in the aviation industry,” said Friend. “I look forward to working with our experienced and engaged team to provide comprehensive solutions to our current and future customers.”
