JetBrokers Europe, the European arm of USA based JetBrokers has appointed Brendan Lodge as its Business Development Director, based in the UK. The formal appointment acknowledges the sizeable contribution Brendan has made at JBE, working alongside Managing Director Tim Barber, since its creation last year.
Brendan brings to JetBrokers Europe a wealth of experience as a specialist business aviation finance broker. Latterly assistant director aviation at Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander, his roles have included development manager aviation at Hitachi Capital Business Finance and finance development manager at Lombard's Aviation Unit. At Kaupthing he was instrumental in establishing the private bank's aviation lending capability, holding the lead role within the aviation lending team of the private banking division.
In April 2009, Brendan established Pathfinder Aviation Finance to provide specialist, ad hoc broking and consultancy advice to aircraft owners on aircraft finance. There was natural synergy between Pathfinder and JetBrokers Europe, and the two have worked closely since last year. Brendan was also instrumental in setting up the UK's business aviation supper club, a now established and popular networking event.
"We are delighted to welcome Brendan into the JetBrokers management team," said Tim Barber. "He is highly regarded in the business aviation and financial sector and his experience and expertise is proving to be a terrific asset for us." Brendan added: "JetBrokers Europe is a very solid aircraft brokerage and is positioning to be among the best in the world. I especially appreciate the company's highly ethical approach to business and client handling, which I have always placed great emphasis on throughout my career."
Since its formation last year JetBrokers Europe, with offices in the UK and Switzerland, recently joined by a new sales office in Berlin, Germany, has successfully broadened its client base. Its client portfolio includes high net worth individuals, corporate departments and financial institutions.
In the pre-owned business aircraft market JetBrokers Europe has seen an increase in activity since the beginning of 2010 and has consistently presented between 30 and 50 aircraft available for sale, in conjunction with JetBrokers Inc. European aircraft have been listed by sellers in the UK, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
