DART Helicopter Services announces Certification of DART's Ultrapaw for the Bell 206L/L1/L3/L4/407

DART Helicopter Services is pleased to announce that their affiliated partner, DART Aerospace Ltd., has received Transport Canada, FAA and EASA approval for their patent pending new design of Bearpaw, called the Ultrapaw for the Bell 206L/L1/L3/L4/407 series of aircraft.

The original DART Bearpaw, constructed of a UHMW polymer, addressed operator concerns about durability and functionality and provided the most lightweight option at the time for landing in soft or uneven terrain.

Now the new DART Lightweight Ultrapaw has evolved. Constructed using innovative technology and ultra lightweight material, the new Ultrapaw; has a 40% larger footprint for additional support in soft terrain. For the same area, the material used in the Ultrapaw is at least 15% lighter than any comparable product currently available on the market.

Weight savings has not come with a sacrifice in performance however. The new lightweight Ultrapaw™ still features a one-piece construction that ensures consistent and deliberate load transfer. The material resists cracking, chipping and breaking and is flexible so it can deflect under high-point contact loads and return to its original shape after take-off.

For superior anti-slip and wear protection, the new lightweight Ultrapaws™ include tungsten carbide welded wearplates and wear bars.

Product Features:

15% lighter weight material

Tungsten carbide welded wearplates and wear bars

Easy installation

Anti-slip/wear protection

40% larger footprint than other available Bearpaws

"This new patented design provides all the benefits of our original Bearpaw but with the advantage of being able to provide a significantly larger footprint with a reduced weight penalty; a win/win situation for any operator." Quote, Bill Beckett, General Manager of DART Aerospace Ltd.
