PWI expands LED product scope with PMA product

Wichita, Kansas-based aviation lighting specialist PWI Inc is spreading its product development wings well beyond its decades-long leadership in cabin lighting for Beechcraft King Air turboprops.

As the OEM cabin lighting supplier for King Airs since the first model left the production floor at Beechcraft, PWI subsequently expanded into business jets, providing cabin lighting for Dassault Falcon, Gulfstream, Cessna Citations and Learjets.

Currently, PWI has circled back to business jet cabin lighting with LED options. The initial product is the complete fluorescent lighting replacement for the Falcon 900B. This is a 42-light LED system, that boosts the Falcon’s interior look and feel. This LED kit enhances the main cabin, galley and lavatory – all fluorescent lights. Following the Falcon 900B PMA product is a series of Cessna Citation cabin LED upgrade kits including the 525, 550, 560 and 650.

And while PWI has expanded LED cabin lighting options for business jets, the soon-to-be PMA approved LED logo light serves the King Air owner. This light illuminates the pilot side of the vertical surface of the tail, often bearing the company logo of business, charter, special missions, airred and cargo King Air operators. Once again, the low power draw, very long life and low heat LED enhances the King Air turboprop line, postponing routine bulb replacements.

The PWI door entry LED, also for King Airs, also leverages LED benefits for entry and exit of the aircraft. Mounted below the wing on the exterior cabin door side, this LED illuminates the ground below the opened door. Unlike the step lights built into the door steps, this light allows passengers to see the ground prior to entry and again when disembarking the aircraft. Safety and long life make this upgrade ideal for any mission.

Other recent product approvals include the ice light window for King Airs and the seat belt/smoking sign graphic for King Air and Pilatus PC-12 series.

PWI is the OEM for King Air lighting, extending a decades long history of OEM lighting fluorescent lights for business jets. Aviation products can be purchased direct or through its growing authorised dealer network.
