Airbus Corporate Jets

Press Release

Issued by Airbus Corporate Jets.

April 9, 2010

Deer Jet is first to offer dedicated Airbus ACJ for vvip charters in China

Deer Jet, a subsidiary of HNA Group, will become the first Chinese operator to dedicate an Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) to VVIP charter flights later this year, introducing new standards of comfort and space to this important and growing market.

It plans to base its Airbus ACJ in Beijing, from where it will be well placed to offer nonstop VVIP charter flights throughout China and most of Asia-Pacific. The Airbus ACJ's intercontinental range will also allow it to offer one-stop flights to most cities in the rest of the world.

"Airbus' ACJ will allow us to offer unprecedented space and comfort to customers, as well as the ability to transport larger groups than traditional business jets,' says Deer Jet CEO Mr. Zhang Kui "We also aim to offer our customers a young fleet and, since the Airbus ACJ is part of the world's most modern aircraft family, are well placed to do exactly that," he adds.

"The value of corporate jets in helping companies to be more successful is increasingly recognized in China and, as the first to dedicate an Airbus ACJ to VVIP charters, Deer Jet is well placed to build on this growing need" points out Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers, John Leahy. "Top-of-the-line corporate jets such as the Airbus ACJ are also consistently good economic performers, even in challenging times," he adds.

Deer Jet's ACJ is currently being outfitted with a VVIP cabin by the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre in Toulouse, following its "green" delivery earlier this year. Its cabin will extend into the air the comfort and space that executives and high net-worth individuals already enjoy at home and in their offices, providing productive and enjoyable lounge areas and a private office. It will seat up to 29 passengers.

Airbus corporate jets such as the A318 Elite, ACJ and A320 Prestige, are the new top-end of the business jet market, offering a cabin that is around twice as wide as traditional business jets and hence unprecedented space, comfort and freedom of movement. They are also more attractive for longer flights, because space and comfort become increasingly important when many hours are spent on board.

Airbus makes the world's most modern airliner family, from which its range of corporate jets is derived. This gives customers many features that are either non-existent or an extra cost on other corporate jets, as well as a product that is a good investment, because it holds its value well.

The corporate jet family includes VIP versions of its widebody A330, A340, A350 and A380, allowing Airbus to offer corporate jets in a wider spread of sizes and ranges than any other manufacturer.

More than 160 Airbus corporate jets have been sold to date – over 100 of the A318 Elite, ACJ and A320 Prestige – plus around 50 VIP and government widebodies. Airbus corporate jets are flying on every continent, including Antarctica, making them the world's most widely used business aircraft.
