Aleksey Belykh has been appointed as the managing director of the Kazan Helicopter Plant following a decision by its board of directors. Yuri Pustovgarov, who has headed Kazan Helicopters since February 2018, has resigned by agreement of the parties and today holds the position of advisor to the general director of the Russian Helicopters holding company.
"I would like to express my gratitude to Yuri Leonidovich Pustovgarov, who came to the Kazan Helicopter Plant during the crisis. The period since 2018 has become a time of change for Kazan Helicopters, when it was necessary to stabilise the financial position of the enterprise and at the same time to take on new challenges, to master the production of promising products and to promote helicopter technology to domestic and foreign markets. Under the leadership of Yuri Pustovgarov, the heavy Mi-38 helicopter entered series production at Kazan Helicopters, the first export contracts for Ansats were signed; work on the modernisation of this helicopter was progressing at a fast pace," noted the general director of the Russian Helicopters holding Andrey Boginsky.
The new managing director of Kazan Helicopters Aleksey Belykh has held various managerial positions at Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant JSC, including the deputy managing director for development and lean production. From 2017 to 2020 he headed the Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant (NARZ JSC). In March 2020, Alexey Belykh was appointed first deputy managing director of the Kazan Helicopter Plant.
“There is a lot of work ahead to expand the supply of Kazan helicopters. Today the whole world learned about the Mi-38 and Ansats; our task is to increase the export potential of rotary-wing aircraft manufactured by Kazan Helicopters.. One of the important tasks is to continue work on the modernisation of the Mi-8/17 series helicopters, as well as to develop cooperation with other enterprises of the Russian Helicopters holding. Today we are talking about the production of cargo floors for the new Mi-8-171A3 helicopter and blades for the Mi-171A2," said the managing director of the Kazan Helicopter Plant Alexey Belykh.
Kazan Helicopters has adopted a firm plan until 2023, which outlines a stable load of Mi-8 helicopters, supplies of Mi-17V-5 for export and an increase in supplies of Ansat and Mi-38 helicopters. Over a period of three years it plans to sell a total of over 180 rotary-wing aircraft.
