At the Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ) of the Russian Helicopters Holding, a part of the Rostec State Corporation, the installation of the Ansat integrated helicopter simulator (KTV) has been completed. After completion of commissioning, the simulator will pass a qualification assessment for certification according to international standards.
The complex Ansat helicopter simulator is installed in the building of the training complex of the KVZ aviation training centre (AEC) on the territory of the enterprise. The simulator was manufactured by M.A.K. LLC, a company engaged in the development and production of technical training aids for flight and technical personnel. After conducting a qualification assessment, AEC KVZ will receive permission from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency to operate the simulator.
The mathematical model of the simulator was developed on the basis of helicopter flight test data provided by the experimental design bureau of the Kazan Helicopter Plant. The appearance of the cockpit and instrumentation equipment of the simulator is fully consistent with the helicopter. The simulator is equipped with a visualiation system, the visualiation scene of the Sochi and Kazan region is fully implemented, including the KVZ flight test complex. The development and manufacture of the Ansat integrated simulator was carried out in accordance with the investment project "Development Concept for the Helicopters of Russia" Kazan Helicopter Plant aviation training centre.
“The popularity of the Ansat in the market is constantly growing, and therefore it became necessary to train representatives of operating organisations on this type of helicopter. In order to carry out a full training cycle, in addition to theoretical and practical training is also needed for the training of specialists. With the advent of the KVZ aviation training centre Ansat helicopter integrated simulator will provide a full cycle of high quality retraining of pilots," said the managing director Kazan Helicopter Plant Yuri Pustovgarov.
Civil pilots will soon begin training on the simulator. The training will be conducted by experienced instructors at the aviation training centre.
The KVZ training centre is also equipped with the Mi-8MTV helicopter complex simulator. The cockpit of the simulator is adapted to simulate pilot training at night with night vision goggles. In addition, the simulator is equipped with a vibro-acoustic installation that simulates the vibration and sounds of a helicopter depending on the flight mode and conditions.
The Kazan Helicopter Plant aviation training centre was established in 1995. Over the 20-year history of the centere, almost 9,000 specialists have been trained there. The centre conducts retraining and advanced training courses for specialists in flight and engineering personnel. Teachers constantly improve their skills, undergo internships at leading training centres in Russia as well as abroad and have personal certificates from aviation manufacturing companies. AEC KVZ provides training for helicopters such as the Mi-8/17 and Ansat. In the future, it is planned to create a similar training programme for the Mi-38 helicopter.
