Russian Helicopters transfers seven Mi-8AMT helicopters to GTLK

Russian Helicopters Holding, a part of Rostec State Corporation, has handed over a batch of seven Mi-8AMT helicopters manufactured by the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant, as part of a contract with the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK). The helicopters were delivered ahead of schedule under a contract for the supply of 14 helicopters in 2019-2020.

The Mi-8AMTs were purchased by GTLK PJSC as part of the Civil Aviation and Air Navigation Services sub-programme of the "Development of the transport system" state programme of the Russian Federation. Two helicopters will be used by Nizhnevartovskavia JSC, two by Naryan-Mar JSC, two by Russian Helicopter Systems JSC and one by Yeltsovka Aviation Enterprise CJSC.

“Through the State Transport Leasing Company, we deliver helicopters to regional operators throughout the country. Due to its technical characteristics, our equipment is able to provide assistance in the most remote corners of Russia,” said Leonid Belykh, managing director of Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant JSC .

The Mi-8AMT helicopter is manufactured in a transport version, equipped with TV3-117VM engines and an enhanced transmission. Reliable navigation is provided by the BMS indicator, which works with GPS and GLONASS positioning systems. The transport capabilities of the helicopter provide transportation for up to 23 passengers in folding seats, as well as the transport of goods weighing up to four tons inside the cargo compartment or on an external sling.

Mi-8/171 type helicopters are the most popular Russian-made helicopters.
