One Works completes new VIP teminal for SEA Prime in Malpensa: a futuristic and light-filled polyhedral building

One Works, one of the leading Italian architectural firms with an international profile, specialising in transport architecture and engineering, has finalised construction of the strategically important new business aviation teminal VIP for SEA Prime, inaugurated today in Milan Malpensa and called Milano Prime.

The project concept was based of a clear vision that responds directly to SEA Prime's strategy: to give life to an innovative structure that meets the world's highest safety standards of service, whilst offering passengers and crews an environment that is highly functional, suitable for accommodating many services and is both relaxing and comfortable.

Located in an area of Malpensa airport between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, the new terminal is intended for travellers arriving in Milan by private jet and is characterised by a modern aesthetic and highly functional infrastructure covering over 1,400 sqm of surface.

With a dynamic and captivating line, the new terminal has been designed to be noticed and recognised by pilots and passengers during the landing phase with a strong character from the outside to the central infrastructure, the heart of the terminal.

Extending over a single floor, the new building is distinguishable by its compact volume and polyhedral shape, with the main entrance covered in panels painted in mother of pearl gray, to provide a unique glossy and mirroring effect. Other elements of the façade, with a dark finish, work in strong contrast with the entrance frame to enhance natural light and welcome passengers. Adjacent to the iconic structure a 50,000 sqm square and a 5,000 sqm hangar have been designed to accommodate the latest- and next-generation of aircraft.

The Milano Prime terminal interiors have been designed to enhance a range of flexible services for accommodating guests in transit with a high quality customer experience, as well as ensuring freedom of movement and the best assistance.

Every moment of the passenger's experience has been studied to provide an atmosphere of elegance and efficiency. From the lobby, passengers enter the security checkpoint through a glass wall with sliding doors: strategically located at the centre of the flows, the authorities can easily monitor all movements within the terminal without creating queues and inconvenience to guests. From here, it's also possible to access dedicated security filters on arrival and departure.

The interior spaces feature large windows and high-quality design finishes, with five exclusive lounges customisable by SEA Prime partners. The lounges are equipped with a full range of ultra-luxury services with high quality standards (meeting rooms, limousine service and concierge) designed to meet the needs of different types of international travellers, always looking for maximum comfort before their flight departs.

Working in line with One Works' 2015 restyling of the Milan Linate Prime business aviation terminal, this exciting new terminal marks a big step in SEA Prime's successful repositioning strategy, which has been carried out with great effectiveness and reflected in the new opening.
