Hawthorne Global Aviation Services has broken ground on a new 31,800 sq ft corporate hangar and office facility at Long Island MacArthur airport (KISP), which is slated to open in December 2019. Hawthorne operates a full service FBO and FAA Part 145 repair station at the airport, as well as a robust aircraft charter and management business through its sister company, ExcelAire. This project will increase Hawthorne's total leasable space at KISP to over 100,000 sq ft for business and corporate aircraft operators.

Bryon Burbage, president and CEO of Hawthorne, said of the project, “We are continuing our partnership with MacArthur airport and the Town of Islip by expanding our facilities. Since we acquired this location six years ago, we have outgrown our space and need to expand to be able to accommodate all of our customers. This will allow us to maintain the exceptional service that our customers have come to expect.”
