Bell showcases new innovations at Japan International Aerospace Exhibition 2018

Bell is proud to be participating in this year's edition of Japan International Aerospace Exhibition from booth #7401.

Bell has a long history in Japan and has been collaborating with Subaru Corporation for over 60 years. It is the first OEM to deliver military helicopters in 1954 to the Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF) and since then, it has delivered 1,500 aircraft in Japan and counts among its recent successes the UH-X and V-22 for the JGSDF programmes.

During the show, Bell will highlight:

- The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X light single engine helicopter is one of Bell's most in demand commercial aircraft in the world. Operated by the Japan Coast Guard for training, the five-seater was designed through customer collaboration to ensure both pilot and passenger receive a safe, smooth and enjoyable experience. To guarantee efficient and reliable performance, the design consists of proven dynamic components, advanced aerodynamic design, a dual channel FADEC Turbomeca Arrius 2R engine and best-in-class value. With more than 100 delivered around the world and over 10,000 hours of operation on the fleet, it's designed to be easier and safer to fly thanks to its superior standard equipment and state-of-the-art Garmin 1000H glass cockpit.

- The Bell 429 is designed with the future in mind, enhancing occupant safety, with the adaptability to remain at the forefront as mission requirements evolve. With over 330,000 hours of proven operations on the global fleet, the Bell 429 is chosen by police forces, air medical teams including Naka Nihon Air Services and Nishi Nippon Airlines, around the world for time-sensitive missions.

- For the first time in Asia Pacific, Bell will display a life-size model of one of its Autonomous Pod Transport (APT) at Japan Aerospace. Bell's APT utilizes a tail-sitting eVTOL configuration and an innovative payload pod. The eVTOL can reach speeds of more than 100mph and can be small enough to handle loads up to 15 pounds, or large enough to transport 1,000 pounds. The APT capability enables a whole new level of expedited service and operational efficiency.
