Nextant Aerospace, builder of the 400XTi and G90XT remanufactured aircraft and Challenger 604XT Fusion upgrade, is pleased to announce it has received a new supplemental type certificate (STC) for installation of Gogo Avance L5 on Embraer Phenom 300s.

This is the first STC of its kind for the Phenom 300 to install the advanced technology. The aircraft was flown straight from the factory to Constant Aviation to be outfitted with the technology upgrade which provides three times faster internet speed and an all-in-one self-contained modem box. The Gogo Avance L5 technology solution features 4G inflight internet, an advanced smart router for integrated and automated cabin experience, and improved Wi-Fi performance that includes streaming audio and video content, moving maps, and flight information.

The Gogo Avance L5 air-to-ground system either replaces an existing ATG system on an aircraft or would be a new system installed after delivery from the factory. It operates over the Gogo Biz 4G network and features seamless coverage in the United States, plus parts of Canada, and Alaska. “Clients will be able to stream live video, receive calls and texts with our STC solution. This is the first of many 4G STC's that we anticipate, some of which are in development and others already in final stages of approval,” remarked Shawn George, Nextant Aerospace vice president.

Nextant provides many off-wing services including simple-to-complex component repair and overhaul, a wide range of composite repair capabilities, full service engineering/certification/design, as well as non-destructive testing (NDT) and Parts and STC kitting. “This STC is another example of how we are on the leading edge to reimagine solutions to meet the ever-evolving expectations of our clients,” added George. “People have come to expect the same level of connectivity on the ground and in the air. This STC enables a first-to-market for the Phenom with the best technology solution available.”
