CAVU Companies has added performance calculations for the BAe-146 and Avro RJ100 to its EFB-Pro performance software. Compatible with desktop computers and mobile devices, EFB-Pro now covers more than 250 aircraft types.

Those who fly the BAe-146 have been told by instructors that manually running AFM performance calculations is “extremely difficult”. Add to that the complexity of performing OEI obstacle clearance weight and runway restrictions and crewa have a truly impossible task. The difficulty for this particular airframe is having to simultaneously run several “spaghetti” charts, then graphing them against each other to account for brake temperature restrictions. Crews heavily rely upon internally created “tab” tables or the FMS, neither of which account for obstacles and other limiting parameters. EFB-Pro successfully calculates an optimized solution, including V1/Vr ratios, max weights and runway lengths, that meet all of the AFM restrictions. The intuitive interface makes the job of running calculations easy and the result confident. The W&B section allows for zone seating. Contaminated runway data is also provided.

In addition, EFB-Pro provides these useful tools:

- PCast (Forecast performance based on temperature variability. Press the little thermometer button in lower right corner of Results screen). Can also be used for flex takeoffs.

- Visual TOLD card. See only the necessary numbers for takeoff and landing. (When on the result screen, press the V1/Vr button)

- Fuel Tankering Takes into account, landing fees and rebates for fuel purchases. (On Resources page)

- Hold-over Times Calculator Time in minutes that the specific solution provides based on all the factors outlined in the FAA and CAA yearly releases. (Select deicing fluid type and brand name, wx conditions, calculates time)

- Multiple Configurations W&B seating layouts (Medevac, Cargo, VIP, Shuttle)

- W&B by Zones (Enter number of passengers in each zone versus by seat location)
