Press Release
Issued by Green Charter 2022.
April 18, 2016
Avro RJ85 msn E2294 G-JOTR has entered commercial service with Jota Aviation in early April carrying out a number of ACMI missions together with a corporate charter from Birmingham to Gothenburg and return. As at 18 April the aircraft has already flown in excess of 30 hours.
The aircraft configured with 95 comfortable, all leather seats, is immediately available for any ACMI or ad hoc charter requirements. The aircraft is also available for any medium or long term wet lease operations.
G-JOTR also has its own integral airstairs enabling fast turnarounds and operations from smaller airfields with limited ground handling facilities. Together with its STOL (short take off and landing) capabilities there aren't many airports where the aircraft has any limitations. Jota's crews are qualified to operate into London City Airport with its steep approach procedures. In addition the aircraft has forward and rear hot galleys and full VIP catering can also be offered if required.
The aircraft was purchased by Jota from Falko Regional Aircraft and had a major C Check completed at Avalon Aero at Cranfield in March this year. It then positioned to Air Livery at Norwich where it had a full paint strip and re-paint into the Jota Aviation distinct orange and graphite livery before entering service in early April 2016.
The aircraft is based at London Southend Airport and is available 24/7. The award winning London Southend Airport is well served by direct rail services from London Liverpool Street to a dedicated airport station only 100 m from the main terminal building. The time from central London to London Southend airport by train is approximately 50 minutes. However Jota is able to position the aircraft to any airport required. The company is able to offer a tailor made solution for any travel needs, allowing the client to set the departure and arrival airports and the times of departure.
The Avro RJ85 complements Jota's BAe 146-200 and a fleet of four Beechcraft King Air turboprops. Jota is the largest operator of the smaller King Air 90 family in Europe, one of which is a unique and dedicated cargo aircraft with a large double cargo door, able to carry in excess of 1,000 kgs. It also operates the larger King Air 200, seating eight passengers.
These aircraft are deployed on cargo and passenger flights from London Southend Airport and are also available for crew movements and urgent AOG spares and medical flights.
