9-Line Aviation to power next evolution of air ambulance in Europe

9-Line Aviation, a specialist aviation holding company, today launched a new company that will deliver the next evolution of air ambulance in Europe.

9-Line Aeromedical, will provide a safe and quality air ambulance service to Europe and northern Africa, combining aircraft safety and comfort levels that the discerning client expects with the world class expertise of highly trained aeromedical staff. The company is based at Blackbushe Airport, Camberley.

The 9-Line Aeromedical clinical team is led by Dr Ian Mollan, an award-winning aerospace medicine expert. Ian previously led the Royal Air Force's (RAF) aeromedical evacuation service and has received several international awards for his work. Ian is supported by Sherry Conway as director of nursing. Sherry is a highly experienced military critical care support team nurse who brings significant experience in specialist aeromedical nursing and equipment development.

9-Line is operated with a fleet of Cessna Citation Mustang aircraft. The fleet has been expertly re-configured for this service, offering flexibility of multiple aircraft, bases and crew to respond to the needs of its clients. The aircraft have state of the art safety systems and bring a new, modern, business jet experience with an enviable reputation in providing reliable and cost effective private travel throughout Europe and northern Africa.

Scott Bateman, ceo, said, “9-Line will redefine the safety and comfort for clients who require an air ambulance. It is managed by experienced medical and aviation professionals who will offer guidance and support throughout the service. The upgraded aircraft with comfort levels of a business jet will reduce the stress and discomfort of those travelling with us. Our aircraft are available across Europe, making this the most extensive multi-hub air ambulance operation in western Europe.”

9-Line has been awarded approvals in October 2015 from the Care Quality Commission and Home Office to carry out aeromedical activities.

9-Line Aviation was formed in 2012 after the founders identified a need for a quality provider with significant expertise in the special mission's field. Through joint ventures the company provides a wide variety of products such as air ambulance as well as more esoteric airborne security services and civilian and military aviation consultancy.

The founders are experienced military and civilian pilots who have also held senior positions in healthcare and aviation fleet management for major UK based airlines. The experience of the management team of 9-Line is unmatched and allows them to draw on in-house expertise to provide bespoke solutions for clients.

Blink Ltd, whose base is at Blackbushe airport, will operate 9-Line Aeromedical's aircraft.
