During a visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Russian Helicopters ceo Alexander Mikheev met with the country's vice president U Nyan Tun. During the meeting, they discussed Myanmar's commercial helicopter industry, the delivery of new Ansat and Mi-26 helicopters, and after sales service for helicopters already in operation.
The meeting took place under the auspices of the Russia-Myanmar Intergovernmental Commission on military-technical cooperation, and possible areas of collaboration in commercial helicopter building in Myanmar were discussed.
“Given the tropical climate and seismic activity, Russian Helicopters' resilient and reliable machines offer an effective means for delivering medicines, fighting fires, and carrying out search and rescue operations,” Russian Helicopters ceo Alexander Mikheev said.
Alexander Mikheev also met with commander in chief of Myanmar's Air Force General U Khin Aung Myint to discuss issues involved in aftersales service and maintenance for equipment already supplied under contracts with Rosoboronexport.
