Press Release
Issued by Long Range AG.
June 22, 2015
VIP charter operator, GainJet Aviation S.A has purchased the state-of-the-art “Quick Change” auxiliary fuel tank system by Swiss company Long Range AG. GainJet will install the flexible auxiliary fuel system on its vip Boeing 737-400 (registration: SX-ATF). This will increase the aircraft's flight range by up to 3.5 hours, i.e. a total flight range capability to a maximum of nine hours. This translates to the capability of performing non-stop intercontinental flights like Dubai to London or New York to Paris.
Long Range AG ceo, Mr. Karl Lang, explains: “The 'Quick Change' fuel system is just that: quick and easy! The system allows for quick and easy installation or removal of LRTs “Line Replaceable Tanks” without the requirement of taking the aircraft into an MRO facility. This offers the crew the ability to configure the system on a mission by mission basis. Simply 'plug in' more fuel tanks for longer flights or remove them for more cargo space.”
GainJet's vip B737 will soon fly out to North America for the installation of the system.
GainJet's ceo, captain Ramsey Shaban, states: “As a private jet charter operator, it's important to provide our customers with mission flexibility. In Long Range's system we have found exactly what we're looking for. Our B737 classic is a popular aircraft and is diversely utilized by rock bands or football teams carrying plenty of equipment while on regional travel; to highly affluent individuals travelling long distances with a small group of their family and friends. We also do flights for multinational corporations carrying 60 executives travelling on corporate business trips. With this system we're able to perfectly accommodate our customers' needs on a case by case basis by offering total mission flexibility.”
Shaban continues: “We are waiting anxiously for our vip B737 to be back on the market at the end of this summer fitted with the Long Range auxiliary fuel system. We plan to have it designated as the Boeing 737LR 'Long Range'!”
With the new tank installation, GainJet's vip B737LR will complement the operator's other executive airliner, a vip Boeing 757, which has a flight range of 9.5 hours, a stateroom, and accommodates over 60 passengers. Shaban states: “It will serve its own market, but the 737LR will also act as a back-up for our B757 and vice versa.”
