TRU Simulation + Training, a Textron Inc. company, announced today that German Approved Training Organization (ATO) Star Wings is in the final stages of installing its TRU-built Cessna Citation CJ3 full flight simulator (FFS). The device will be qualified to EASA CS-FSTD(A) standards for Level D use and is expected to be ready for training within weeks. With this new high fidelity FFS, Star Wings will become the only provider of CJ3 full flight simulator training in all of Europe.

Star Wings' training program for pilots who operate the CJ3 aircraft will include initial, recurrent and type rating training as well as difference training, right hand seat training, Type Rating Instructor (TRI)/Type Rating Examiner (TRE) training, Rockwell Collins 3000 FMS and ProLine 21 training, Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC) training, License Proficiency Check (LPC)/Operator Proficiency Check (OPC) check flights. The high fidelity full flight simulator will enable students to train in the most lifelike simulated environments and situations that would otherwise pose far too great a risk to recreate as part of training in the actual aircraft.
The CJ3 FFS X features an electric-pneumatic six-degree-of-freedom motion system, a 200° x 40° field of view (FOV) as well as a high fidelity image generator providing superior brightness and resolution capabilities. The SimCast Debrief System, a state-of-the-art system for flight simulator training sessions, will allow for synchronized and queued recording of instrument displays, flight navigation displays, flight mode annunciators and crew audio and video recorded from flight deck area microphones.
