PrivateFly celebrates the people behind the industry at BACA Spring lunch 2014

The twice-yearly BACA lunch is always a lively event in the business aviation calendar, but this spring's event saw a new artistic twist to proceedings, with caricaturists, provided by PrivateFly, capturing some of the industry's personalities over the course of the afternoon.

The lunch, held at Merchant Taylors' Hall, Threadneedle Street, London on Thursday 10th April, attracted over three hundred international brokers, operators and others involved in the air charter industry.

The private charter network provided a team of three caricaturists, who created digital drawings of some of the attendees, using tablets. This meant the resulting images could be shared on a big screen for the entertainment of the whole room.

Adam Twidell, ceo of PrivateFly and a Council Member of BACA, the global industry organisation for air charter, commented as follows: “Some would say that we are all more than a little obsessed with aircraft in the business aviation industry. But no aircraft would get off the ground without the vital human chain of support in the background. And I'm not just talking about the pilot. Business aviation is ultimately an industry about people.

“We wanted to celebrate this by capturing some well-known faces from the different aircraft operators, brokers and associate members who attend the BACA lunch. As a member of the BACA Council, I see at close hand what an excellent job our organisation does of setting high standards of professionalism and integrity in air charter.

“The BACA lunch is always a very successful and interesting event - this one was certainly no exception, with the caricaturists adding fun to the occasion. Most people seemed to be happy with the results, once vanity had been put aside! We have published a line-up on the PrivateFly Facebook page, so see if you can spot your colleagues, friends (or even yourselves).”
