UAS International Trip Support
Press Release
Issued by UAS International Trip Support.
March 13, 2014
Leading global trip support provider United Aviation Services (UAS) has been invited by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) to moderate and join panel discussions at the 41st Annual International Operators Conference, held 17-20 March 2014, in Tampa, Florida.
Following UAS' announcement about the launch of its Africa headquarters in Johannesburg, the NBAA invited two UAS leaders to participate in the Regional Review Panel on Africa: Jay Husary, senior director operations and sales will join the panel as an expert while Ryan Frankhouser, director of business development - Americas, will serve as moderator. Designed to address the challenges operators face in Africa, the panel tackles a number of key subjects, including how best to navigate the often bewildering requirements and regulations governing air space and operations on the continent.
Ryan Frankhouser will also be participating on the Ask-the-Experts panel on International Trip Planning and Execution, where IOC and top international service providers team-up to share best practices and tricks of the trade.
“Doing business in Africa can be very rewarding, but it comes with plenty of challenges,” says Jay Husary, UAS senior director operations and sales. According to Husary, infrastructure is often underdeveloped, ground equipment can be hard to come by in some areas, vip facilities mean different things in different markets, and the formal and informal protocols for communicating with local authorities can change significantly country to county – and sometimes within countries. “None of this has stopped UAS,” he says. “We recognized the potential of the continent almost fifteen years ago when we first started servicing operations to Africa. The region has always been an anchor in our growth. We know first-hand what it takes to succeed in Africa and how aviation can also foster growth and development, and look forward to bringing our experiences to both discussions.”
UAS has been a proud supporter and member of the International Operators Committee since 2009.
As part of its participation at IOC and to celebrate the opening of its new regional headquarters in Africa and the Americas, UAS is giving away three all-inclusive trips. From the first day onward, attendees simply fill out their ballots in the morning; the winner is then announced the following day. The announcement schedule is as follows:
• March 18: A trip for two to the Bahamas.
• March 19: A cruise for two to the Bahamas.
• March 20: The grand prize: an all-inclusive safari for two to South Africa.
