Shandong Qi Xiang General Aviation Ltd and MD's sole sales distributor in China, Avion Pacific Ltd have reached an agreement for the delivery of an MD Helicopter in the second quarter of 2014. The sale marks the first market debut in China for the brand new MD 500 series.

“We are very excited about this particular purchase. Personally, I have always been a fan of the MD 500 series. The MD 500E helicopter delivers the highest speed, payload and productivity in its class,” said the director of the board from Qi Xiang GA, Mr. Liu Haifeng “Also, with a five-bladed main rotor and the Rolls-Royce turbine engine, the MD 500E is the best suited helicopter for us. Our company is confident that, with this new MD 500E joining our fleet, we will be able to further expand our business capabilities.”

As the first sale for China general aviation industry in 2014, both Qi Xiang GA and Avion are very confident that the MD500 series will rapidly gain market share with its outstanding performance and top-notch customer service.

At the signing ceremony, the president of Avion, Mr. Wu Zhendong added: “The MD 500 series has the proven reliability of the derated turbine engine, fail-safe design and a worldwide network of factory-authorized service centers to assure customer satisfaction. We have been working with MD since 1999, and we have dedicated MD technicians that are ready to travel around China, wherever our customers need us.”

Currently MD series helicopters flying in China are the MD 600 and MD 902 helicopters. Among their many uses, MD Helicopters are popular in chemical spray applications for agriculture and also for power-line survey.
