Turbomeca at Helitech

At the Helitech Airshow (24-26 September at London, UK), Turbomeca (Safran) will display mock-ups of its turboshaft engines: the Arrius 2R, recently selected by Bell Helicopter, the Makila and the RTM 322, today a 100% Turbomeca engine, as well as a 3D presentation of the latest generation Arrano. Turbomeca will display as well its value-added services: the new range of integrated on-line services, BOOST.

UK business

The UK is a major market for Turbomeca with sales to the Ministry of Defence, its largest single customer, and to civil operators who fly a variety of missions covering offshore, EMS, police support, corporate and vips. The UK fleet of Turbomeca engines now amounts to more than 750 in service on nearly 500 helicopters; as well as 400 RTM 322 engines in operational use with all three British Armed Forces.

Turbomeca UK also manufactures a range of components and assemblies for helicopter gas turbines, and propulsion systems for missiles and drones. It also produces complete starting systems for Hawk, Jaguar and Eurofighter Typhoon fast jets.

Growing service capabilities

Turbomeca UK's front office and network of field reps is operational throughout the UK and Ireland. The team is key to the success of the organisation and to the increasing number of Turbomeca and Microturbo engines arriving for repair or overhaul at the facility. Turbomeca UK operates from a 7,000m2 state-of-the-art facility in Fareham, Hants. It supports Arriel, Arrius and Makila engines and provides a dedicated and fast-reacting service to UK and Irish customers.
