Daher-Socata's TBM 850 shines at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Daher-Socata is showcasing its TBM 850 very fast turboprop as a part of the Goodwood Aviation Exhibition at the annual Festival of Speed – held July 11-14 in the U.K. This aviation show has moved this year to a more central location, next to the Moving Motor Show, with a growing number of exhibitors.

It is the second time a TBM 850 is brought to the Goodwood Flying Field – the original grass strip created by Lord March, Duke of Richmond, near Goodwood House. This airstrip was home to Royal Air Force Spitfires during World War II, and has become a pasture that temporarily is opened to a limited number of aircraft attending the Festival of Speed.

Thanks to the TBM 850's short takeoff and landing capability, Daher-Socata's turboprop-powered aircraft is able to join other fast transportation vehicles, including sports cars, motorbikes and airplanes on the Goodwood estate for a unique all-motorsports event that is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2013.

"This is a natural setting for the TBM 850, as the Goodwood Festival of Speed is a place for speed lovers and sleek machines with high horsepower,” explained Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice president of the Daher-Socata Airplane Division. “Last year we introduced the Elite version of our very fast turboprop at the event, and had contact with many people interested in the TBM 850."

For the U.K. and Ireland market, TBM aircraft sales for the are handed by Mark Diaz, Daher-Socata's Airplane Division director of international sales, who also is a TBM demonstration pilot. He is assisted by the team at Aura Aviation – a TBM authorized sales representative based at Oxford Airport.

TBM 850 support in this region is the responsibility of two long-established service centers: ASG Ltd. in Guernsey (Channel Islands) and MCA Aviation Ltd, based at Shoreham Airport (West Sussex).
