Rolls-Royce congratulates Gulfstream on G650 service entry

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company and leading engine supplier for business jets, today congratulated Gulfstream on the successful entry into service of its new flagship corporate aircraft, the G650. The aircraft is powered by Rolls-Royce BR725 engines.

The G650 sets new performance standards, flying faster and further than other ultra-long-range corporate aircraft.

The 16,900lb-thrust BR725 offers the best efficiency and environmental performance of any engine in the business jet market today, with improved fuel consumption and NOx emissions compared to its predecessors.

Russell Buxton, Rolls-Royce, president - civil small and medium engines, said: "We are very proud to power the new ultra-long-range G650. Its entry into service marks another chapter in our successful relationship with Gulfstream. The BR725 development programme has been extremely successful and one of the fastest in Rolls-Royce's history, delivering all key milestones on schedule. We now look forward to supporting aircraft operators in service through our market leading CorporateCare® maintenance programme."

The BR725 is the latest and most advanced member of the BR700 engine series and also incorporates technology from the market-leading Trent widebody engine family. It is designed and built at the Rolls-Royce facility at Dahlewitz, Germany, which will also perform engine health monitoring in service.
