At its VIP Operator Forum, held in Prague this year, Airbus Corporate Jets named Lufthansa Technik as its "Best VIP cabin outfitter of the year 2012".

This award was presented for the first time, with Lufthansa Technik being chosen from the Airbus-Approved Outfitting Centre network.

The award was the result of extensive evaluations of the individual completion centers, by Airbus Corporate Jets, in the preceding months. The evaluation considered points such as overall quality, adherence to deadlines and technical planning. Both Lufthansa Technik's Completion Centre in Hamburg and that of its U.S. subsidiary BizJet International in Tulsa, Oklahoma were evaluated and the results were included in the final assessment.

Dr. Hans Schmitz, Senior Vice President VIP & Executive Jet Solutions at Lufthansa Technik, accepted the award at a Gala dinner, saying: "This award is a wonderful acknowledgment of the performance that the employees in our VIP business regularly deliver. But it's also a strong incentive to improve our quality and services for our VIP customers and industry partners even further."

At the event, moreover, two of the three customer prizes were awarded to Airbus customers whose VIP aircraft cabins had been outfitted by Lufthansa Technik.
