Press Release
Issued by Aero-Dienst.
May 14, 2012
As part of its strategy of steady expansion, Aero- Dienst has increased its hangar capacity to a total of some 8,000 square metres (86,000 sq ft) with the utilization of an additional hangar at its home base in Nuremberg. Hangar 5 will be used primarily for Bombardier Challenger and Dassault Falcon aircraft. Another 900 square metres (9,700 sq ft) of workshop and storage space is also available there.
The long-standing company thus has sufficient space not only for the maintenance of numerous business jets, but also for refurbishments and cosmetic repairs to aircraft interiors. This is being handled in cooperation with metrica Aviation INTERIOR. From now on repairs and cabin refurbishments can be carried out on all aircraft models at the same time as other maintenance operations, all under one roof. Workshops and offices have been set up specifically for this purpose to perform work on interiors such as carpets, coverings and panels.
"We are delighted that we are now able to meet the enormous demand from our customers for refurbishments," said Martin Bauer, managing director of Aero-Dienst. "The expansion of our facilities by a further 2,500 square metres (27,000 sq ft) has given us the space to bring another professional partner on board, namely metrica Aviation INTERIOR, which is widely respected in the industry. We have already completed our first projects together, offering our customers a perfect "one-stop"-service."
Numerous repairs have been carried out, new carpets installed and leather upholstery treated in cabin interiors of a variety of aircraft since January this year. The service includes the necessary tests and certification measures for the materials used.
Aero-Dienst now offers a free-of-charge evaluation of the cabin interior condition during maintenance activities for which the aircraft is down for one to two weeks. Following a thorough inspection, the customer will receive a quote with recommended refurbishment actions for the interior.
To give customers a suitable working and relaxing environment during their stay with the aircraft in Aero-Dienst's facility, individual lounges and customer offices have been set up in Hangar 5 in addition to the various workshops.
