Titan Airways, the London Stansted-based VIP charter specialist, takes delivery of a brand new Cessna Citation CJ2+ business jet this month. Purchased from the manufacturer directly from Wichita, KA, the six-seat light jet is the latest variant of the popular Citation CJ2 series.
Offering a range of 1,600 nm it is suitable for a range of key cities in Europe for leisure breaks and time-saving business trips. And, with its ability to operate into runway restricted airports such as London City and Lugano in Switzerland, Titan Airways will be able to offer the aircraft for ski charters this winter. It also sees the aircraft playing a useful role in airline crew movements, AOG (Aircraft on Ground) flights for aircraft spares and engineering teams, UK organ transplant operations and rescue missions.
The aircraft G-POWG is configured with six leather seats in total, a club four arrangement of four seats including two stowable tables for work, plus two forward facing seats behind this, electrical power points and individual reading lights. For an aircraft its size it boasts an impressive cruise speed of 480 mph and can fly up to 45,000 ft. Earlier this month at the recent premier business aviation show, NBAA in Las Vegas, the aircraft scooped a world speed record for a flight from Reykjavik, Iceland to London. Pilot Eric Norber made the journey in two hours and 48 minutes, a record for a business jet in the 3,000-6,000 kgs (6,600-13,200 lbs) category.
"The Cessna Citation CJ2+ is a popular aircraft and we look forward to adding it to our fleet," said Titan Airways Commercial Director Alastair Kiernan. Cessna's Sales Director UK Tom Perry, welcoming Titan to its family of Cessna Citation owners, said: "Titan Airways is one of Europe's premier charter companies, now offering aircraft from the CJ2+ right up to the Boeing 767-300ER. Cessna is delighted the CJ2+ has become part of Titan's distinctive fleet."
As with all the Titan Airways fleet, the new Citation CJ2+ will be available for short notice, rapid response charter and sub-charter. Titan Airways unique 'Go Now' policy guarantees that any of its fleet can be airborne within 60 minutes of flight confirmation.
Three-times winner of BACA's prestigious passenger Charter Airline of the Year award, Titan Airways celebrates 24 years of passenger operations this year. The airline's enviable reputation is built on its wealth of experience and attention to detail. Titan Airways bespoke charter service enables clients to tailor-make the travel itinerary from departure and arrival airports of their choice, utilising the airline's fleet of jet aircraft seating up to 265 passengers.
